THE BEST EXERCISE IS THE ONE YOU DO

Get consistent or stay stuck

There’s only one way to get fit: be consistent.
You can do the most perfectly programmed workout in the world, but if you only do it once—or whenever the mood hits—you won’t get results.

The point of exercising is to improve how your body functions, moves, feels, and yes, looks.

And the only way to get those results is to show up. Again and again.

Been there myself

For too many years, my workouts were random.
I’ve always been a workaholic—work came first. That left little time for my partner, family, or friends. By the time I got through my day, there wasn’t much left for me. Add in groceries, cooking, and dogs—you get the picture.

Workouts became “optional.” Optional is another word for barely ever happens!

Why I don’t skip now

Fast-forward to today. At 68, I realize that my actions right now will determine how I age.
I strength train three times a week and do cardio six times a week—not for looks, but for my future self.

I’ve had clients come to me too weak and too late. They already can’t stand up out of a chair or walk without a cane.
That’s not fate. That’s disuse.
And it’s preventable.

So my response? Double down on what’s working. I don’t wait for motivation. I built the habit.

Find your jam and commit. Aim for 150 minutes of cardio and two to three strength sessions per week.

My reality check

I have arthritis, osteoporosis, and Hashimoto’s. I monitor my cholesterol. Cardiovascular disease runs through my family.

These problems motivate rather than define me.

I’m not chasing perfection. I’m chasing independence.

The best exercise is the one you do—today, tomorrow, and again next week.
