Fired at 59. Now I Help Women Over 30 Build Strength, Confidence, and Longevity.

At 59, I lost my job. I thought it was the end of something.

It turned out to be the beginning of everything.

Here’s how I went from unemployed… to helping women over 30 feel strong, capable, and confident in their bodies again—without beating themselves up in the gym.

The Day Everything Changed
I had just moved from NYC to a small town in Maine. My remote job didn’t follow me—and I suddenly found myself jobless at 59.

So I took a desk job at the YMCA.

What I didn’t know then was… that gym would change my life.

From Desk Job to Dissection Lab
Being around people changing their lives lit a fire in me.

I asked myself: what if I became a personal trainer?

I didn’t just want a certification—I wanted mastery.

That meant studying anatomy. Completing 500+ hours of yoga. Even stepping into a human dissection lab to understand the aging body on a deeper level.

Most trainers skip this part. I love it.

Real Movement for Real Bodies
I don’t teach Zumba—not because I can’t, but because my knees said no.

So instead, I learned:
✅ TRX
✅ Tai Chi
✅ Mat Pilates
✅ Nutrition coaching

I test everything on my own body first—because if it doesn’t work for me at 60+, I won’t give it to you.

Smart Nutrition Over Fads
Once upon a time, I thought graham crackers were healthy.

Now, I understand the role of protein, blood sugar, and muscle preservation for women post-30.

Tiny shifts like protein-rich snacking:
🍎 Apple + almond butter
🧀 Crackers + cheese
🥤 Protein shake with veggies and fruit

...have made a massive impact on how I feel and function. Along with strength training, it is why at 68, I weigh what I weighed at 30.

It’s Not About Perfect. It’s About Progress.
At 59, I became a beginner again.

Since then, I’ve built a second act rooted in strength, knowledge, and self-trust—not hustle or pressure.

Every step I’ve taken has been about one thing: helping women to build lasting strength in their bodies.

And the journey’s just getting started.

Because the real question isn’t “Can I do this?”

It’s: What else am I capable of?
And that’s the question I ask myself every damn day.
